Overview
CVS (Concurrent Versions System) is a tool used by many software
developers to manage changes within their source code tree. It contains
the latest code and bug fixes, as well as a history of all files.
Here's are instructions for accessing the Mercury CVS repository on
Sourceforge. See also Sourceforge's CVS
documentation.
Step 1. Check out the source.
Run the following commands in a directory that you have write access to:
cvs -d ':pserver:anonymous@mgsn.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/mgsn' login
(Just hit enter for the password)
cvs -z3 -d ':pserver:anonymous@mgsn.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/mgsn'
checkout mercury
You should see it listing all the source files.
Step 2. Install and build it.
Follow the install instructions in mercury/INSTALL.
Step 3. Check out again.
When changes are made to the Mercury CVS tree, you'll want to update
your copy. You can update your source tree with:
cvs update -d
CVS Nightly Tar Balls
If for some reason the above CVS commands are not available to you,
you can download nightly
CVS tarballs. The CVS tree is also browsable
online.
